Materials

• Crochet thread (Size 10) in Black and White
• 1.0 mm crochet hook
• Small amount of fiberfill stuffing
• 2 mm black safety eyes (for the dog)
• Black sewing thread and needle
• Keychain ring and jump ring

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• inc – increase
• dec – decrease
• bo – bobble stitch (4-dc bobble)
• st(s) – stitch(es)
• sl st – slip stitch
• MC – Main Color (Black)
• CC – Contrasting Color (White)

Instructions

Border Collie Head:

Using CC (White):

• Round 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4 sts)
• Round 2: [sc, inc] repeat around (6 sts)
• Round 3: sc in each st around (6 sts)

Switch to MC (Black) for sides, keeping a CC (White) stripe down the center forehead:

• Round 4: 2 sc in MC, 1 sc in CC, 3 sc in MC (6 sts)
• Round 5: [inc, sc] repeat around, maintaining center white stripe (9 sts)
• Round 6: [inc, 2 sc] repeat around, insert 2mm safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5 on either side of the white stripe (12 sts)
• Round 7: sc in each st around (12 sts)
• Round 8: [dec] 6 times (6 sts)
• Stuff head firmly, fasten off and weave in ends.

Border Collie Body:

Using CC (White) to start chest:

• Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: [inc] around (12 sts)
• Round 3-4: sc in each st around (12 sts)

Switch to MC (Black) for back and sides, maintaining CC on the underbelly:

• Round 5-12: sc in each st around, using MC for top 8 sts and CC for bottom 4 sts (12 sts)
• Round 13: [dec] 6 times (6 sts)
• Stuff body firmly, fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Border Collie Legs (Make 4):

For front legs (White):

• Round 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4 sts)
• Round 2-6: sc in each st around (4 sts). Fasten off.

For hind legs (Black upper, White lower):

• Round 1: Using MC, 4 sc in magic ring (4 sts)
• Round 2-3: sc in each st around (4 sts)
• Round 4-6: Switch to CC, sc in each st around (4 sts). Fasten off.

Mini Sheep (Make 3):

Using CC (White) for body:

• Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 sts)
• Round 2: [sc, bo] repeat around (12 sts)
• Round 3: [sc, bo] repeat around (12 sts)
• Round 4: [dec] around using regular sc, stuff lightly (6 sts)
• Fasten off, weave in ends.

Using MC (Black) for head:

• Round 1: 5 sc in magic ring (5 sts)
• Round 2-3: sc in each st around (5 sts). Fasten off and sew to the body.

Using MC (Black) for legs:

• Join yarn to bottom of sheep body, chain 3, sl st back down, secure to body. Repeat for all four legs.

Assembly:

Sew the dog’s head, legs, and tail to the body. Assemble the tiny sheep and attach them securely to the dog using a thin white cord. Attach the keychain ring to the back of the dog’s neck for a balanced hang.
