Materials

• Fingering weight yarn in Light Gray, Dark Gray, Dark Brown, Gold, and Royal Blue
• 1.5mm or 2.0mm crochet hook
• Keychain ring with chain
• Yarn needle and scissors
• Thin plastic or wire insert (for stability)

• MR: Magic Ring
• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase
• dec: decrease
• sl st: slip stitch
• BLO: back loop only

Instructions

Blade (Light Gray):

Row 1: Ch 18. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc 16, 3 sc in the last ch. Turn to work along the opposite side of the chain: sc 15, inc. Join with sl st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Thread Dark Gray yarn into a needle and embroider a straight line down the center of the blade on both sides to create the fuller line.

Fold the blade flat and whipstitch the edges together, inserting a small plastic card piece cut to size inside to keep it stiff.

Guard (Dark Brown & Gold):

Row 1: With Dark Brown, ch 10. Join in a circle with a sl st. Sc around (10 sc). Fasten off.

Attach Gold yarn and surface slip stitch around the edges of the guard to add the decorative trim.

Hilt & Pommel (Dark Brown & Light Gray):

With Dark Brown, join yarn to the center of the guard. Ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring. Crochet 5 rounds of 5 sc to form the grip. Fasten off.

With Light Gray, make a Magic Ring. Round 1: 6 sc in MR. Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3 (9). Round 3: dec around. Stuff lightly and sew to the end of the hilt.

Blue Gem (Royal Blue & Gold):

With Royal Blue, make 4 sc in MR. Join and fasten off. Sew to the center of the guard. Outline with a single stitch of Gold yarn.

Assembly:

Secure all loose ends. Attach the keychain ring to the top of the pommel using a jump ring.
