• Worsted weight yarn in Royal Blue (Yarn A)

Instructions

Main Hat (Worked in the Round)

Using Yarn A (Royal Blue), make a magic ring.

Change to Yarn B (Bright Red)

Brim (Worked in Rows)

Using Yarn B (Bright Red), attach yarn to the center front of the hat (approximately 15 sts from the side join of the hat, centered). Work in rows.

Mario ‘M’ Emblem

White Circle (Yarn C)

Make a magic ring.

• Rnd 1: Ch 1 (does not count as st), 6 sc in magic ring, sl st to first sc to join. (6 sc)
• Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc inc in each st around, sl st to first sc. (12 sc)
• Rnd 3: Ch 1, [sc in next st, sc inc in next st] repeat around, sl st to first sc. (18 sc)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Red ‘M’

Using the small amount of Red yarn and a yarn needle, embroider a bold capital ‘M’ onto the center of the white circle. Alternatively, you can crochet a small ‘M’ and sew it on.

Assembly

Using the long tail from the white circle, sew the completed Mario ‘M’ emblem securely to the front of the blue portion of the hat, centering it above the brim.
