HAIR (Black Yarn)

Rnd 2-8: sc around (6)
Stuff lightly. FO, leaving a tail for sewing. Embroider horizontal lines with dark green yarn to simulate bamboo segments.

KIMONO OUTER COAT (Black Yarn)

Ch 21 (or a length that drapes over the shoulders).
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (20). Ch 1, turn.
Row 2-15: Sc across (20). Ch 1, turn.
FO. This forms a rectangle. Fold in half horizontally and sew the side edges, leaving armholes at the top sides. This creates a simple jacket. Drape and sew onto the doll’s shoulders.

ASSEMBLY

Embroider eyebrows and eyelashes on the head with black yarn. Add white glints to the safety eyes with white yarn or paint. Apply pink blush to cheeks.
Sew the head to the body if they were made separately.
Sew the arms to the sides of the body.
Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.
