Materials

• Embroidery floss or Lace weight yarn (Size 10) in Blue, Yellow, Black, Red, Pink, White, and Mint Green
• 1.25 mm crochet hook (or suitable size for micro-crochet)
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Red round-headed sewing pin (for the joystick)
• Fine yarn needle and embroidery needle
• Keychain ring with chain
• Strong fabric glue (optional, for securing loose ends)

Instructions

Side Panels (Make 2 in Blue):

Row 1: Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (8 sc).

Row 2-6: Ch 1, sc across, turn (8 sc).

Row 7 (Control Panel Ledge): Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts, inc in next st, sc in last 2 sts, turn (9 sc).

Row 8-11: Ch 1, sc across, turn (9 sc).

Row 12 (Screen Slope Decrease): Ch 1, dec, sc across to end, turn (8 sc).

Row 13-17: Ch 1, sc across, turn (8 sc).

Row 18 (Top Slope): Ch 1, dec, sc across to last 2 sts, dec, turn (6 sc).

Row 19: Ch 1, sc across, turn (6 sc). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Cabinet Center Strip (Make 1 in Blue):

This continuous strip forms the bottom, back, top, marquee, and sloped front of the machine. Adjust lengths based on your side panels during assembly.

Row 1: Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (8 sc).

Row 2-45: Ch 1, sc across, turn (8 sc). Keep working in rows until the strip is long enough to wrap completely around the perimeter of the side panels. Fasten off.

Screen Panel (Make 1 in Black):

Row 1: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (6 sc).

Row 2-5: Ch 1, sc across, turn (6 sc). Fasten off.

Marquee Panel (Make 1 in White):

Row 1: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (6 sc).

Row 2: Ch 1, sc across, turn (6 sc). Fasten off.

Yellow Trim Lines:

Using Yellow yarn, work a line of surface slip stitches along the front edges of both Side Panels to give the cabinet its classic neon yellow border detailing.

Embroidery & Details:

• Marquee: Embroider “PAC-MAN” or similar block letters using Yellow floss onto the White Marquee Panel. Border the marquee with yellow sewing thread.
• Screen: Using Yellow and Red embroidery floss, stitch a tiny Pac-Man (yellow C-shape) and a tiny ghost (red block with blue eyes) onto the Black Screen Panel.
• Control Panel: On the front ledge of the center strip, stitch tiny French knots in Pink and Mint Green to represent buttons. Carefully insert a red round-headed pin through the crochet fabric to act as the joystick, securing it inside with a drop of glue.
• Coin Slot: On the lower front of the center strip, embroider a small black rectangle with two small red vertical lines inside.

Assembly:

Sew the embroidered Screen and Marquee panels onto the Center Strip at their designated locations on the front face. Align the Side Panels with the Center Strip. Sew the pieces together using whip stitches with Blue yarn, stuffing the cabinet firmly with fiberfill before closing the final seams. Securely attach the keychain loop to the top center of the arcade machine.
