Materials

• Fingering weight yarn (or embroidery floss) in Beige, Brown, Green, White, Yellow, and Dark Brown
• 1.0 mm crochet hook
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring and chain link
• Miniature wooden spade accessory
• Fine embroidery needle and sewing scissors

Instructions

Head (Beige Yarn):

• Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
• Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
• Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 6 (18)
• Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24)
• Rnd 5-9: sc around (24)
• Rnd 10: (2 sc, dec) * 6 (18)
• Rnd 11: (1 sc, dec) * 6 (12) – Stuff the head firmly with fiberfill.
• Rnd 12: 6 dec (6) – Fasten off, leaving a tail to close the hole.

Hair (Brown Yarn):

• Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
• Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
• Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 6 (18)
• Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24)
• Rnd 5-8: sc around (24)
• To create bangs and side locks: sl st into the next stitch, (ch 5, sl st back along the chain, skip 1 st on head, sl st into next st) repeat to frame the face.
• Sew the hair cap securely onto the head.

Body & Dress (Green & Beige Yarn):

• Start with Beige for the neck. Ch 6, join to form a loop.
• Rnd 1: 6 sc around (6)
• Switch to Green for the dress bodice.
• Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
• Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 6 (18)
• Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24)
• Rnd 5-7: sc around (24)
• Rnd 8 in BLO: (2 sc, dec) * 6 (18) – Stuff body firmly.
• Rnd 9: (1 sc, dec) * 6 (12)
• Rnd 10: 6 dec (6) – Fasten off.
• For the dress skirt: Join Green yarn in the FLO of Rnd 8. Ch 2, dc in each front loop around to create a flared skirt, sl st to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Wings (White Yarn – Make 2):

• In a MR, ch 2, 8 dc, ch 2, sl st into ring. Pull magic ring tight to form a teardrop-shaped wing.
• Sew both wings side-by-side onto the back of the fairy’s dress.

Garden Base (Green & Dark Brown Yarn):

• Using Green yarn to create an oval base:
• Row 1: Ch 10, inc in 2nd ch from hook, 7 sc, 4 sc in last ch. Working along the opposite side of the chain: 7 sc, inc (22)
• Rnd 2: 2 inc, 7 sc, 4 inc, 7 sc, 2 inc (30)
• Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 2, 7 sc, (1 sc, inc) * 4, 7 sc, (1 sc, inc) * 2 (38)
• Rnd 4-5: sc around (38)
• To stabilize the base, cut a small piece of flat plastic or cardboard to fit inside.
• Rnd 6 in BLO: (dec, 3 sc) around to close the base flatly. Fasten off.
• Embroider a small patch of Dark Brown stitches on top of the base to represent a dirt pile.

Miniature Flowers & Assembly:

• Using Yellow yarn: MR, (ch 2, sl st in ring) * 5 to make a small five-petal flower. Make 3 flowers and mount them on small stems using green thread, then stitch them into the dirt pile on the base.
• Attach the fairy doll securely to the green base in a kneeling or sitting position.
• Add optional details like a tiny wooden spade, a flower crown made of embroidered yellow/pink french knots, and pink blush on her cheeks.
• Securely fasten the keychain chain through the top of the fairy’s head.
