Materials

Instructions

Gauge: Not critical for this project, just maintain tight stitches to prevent stuffing from showing.

Mini Granny Motif (Make 4: 2 for Back/Seat, 2 for Armrests)

• R1 (Orange): Start with a MR, ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 7 hdc in MR. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (8 hdc)

• R2 (Green): Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around. Join with sl st. (16 hdc)

• R3 (Light Blue): Ch 2, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st* around. Join with sl st. (24 hdc)

• R4 (Cream): Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st (corner made), *sc in next 5 sts, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st* three times, sc in next 3 sts. Join with sl st to first sc. FO, weave in ends. (28 sc, 4 ch-1 sps)

Backrest

• Take one Mini Granny Motif. Attach Dark Blue yarn to any ch-1 corner space of the motif.

• R1 (Dark Blue): Ch 1, sc in same ch-1 sp, sc in each sc along the side, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-1 sp (corner), repeat around. Join with sl st to first sc. (36 sc, 4 ch-1 sps)

• R2-R4 (Dark Blue): Ch 1, sc in each sc and in ch-1 spaces (treating corners as 1 st), working (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner ch-1 sps to maintain square shape. After R4, FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. This forms the outer frame of the backrest.

Seat

• Repeat the exact instructions for the Backrest using another Mini Granny Motif. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Base

• Row 1 (Cream): Ch 15.

• Row 2 (Cream): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (14 sc)

• Row 3 (Cream): Ch 1, turn, sc across. (14 sc)

• R4-R7 (Dark Blue): Ch 1, turn, sc across. (14 sc)

• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Armrests (Make 2)

• R1 (Dark Blue): Ch 18.

• R2-R3 (Dark Blue): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (17 sc)

• FO, leaving a long tail. Roll the strip into a tube shape and sew the long edges together and one short end. Lightly stuff, then sew the remaining short end closed. This creates a stuffed cylindrical armrest.

• Take two of the remaining Mini Granny Motifs. Center and sew one motif onto the outer side of each armrest using a tapestry needle and matching yarn.

Legs (Make 4)

• R1 (Cream): Start with MR, 6 sc in MR. (6 sc)

• R2-R3 (Cream): Sc in each st around. (6 sc)

• FO, leaving a tail for sewing. Do not stuff.

Assembly

• Attach Backrest: Using the long tail from the backrest, sew the bottom edge of the backrest to one of the long edges of the Base (the Dark Blue part).

• Attach Seat: Using the long tail from the seat, sew one long edge of the seat to the front long edge of the Base, opposite the backrest. The seat should slightly overhang the Base.

• Attach Side Panels/Armrests: Position the armrests on each side of the chair, attaching the back of the armrest to the side of the backrest, and the front of the armrest to the side of the seat. Sew securely using the Dark Blue yarn tails.

• Attach Legs: Sew the four legs to the bottom corners of the Base using Cream yarn.

• Keychain Loop: Attach Yellow yarn to the top center of the backrest. Ch 15, then sl st back into the same stitch to form a loop. Securely weave in ends. Attach the keychain ring to this loop.

• Weave in all remaining loose ends. Your miniature armchair keychain is complete!
