Assembly

1. Add Flag Stripes: Using a tapestry needle and White yarn, embroider a horizontal stripe of running stitches across the blue side of the shoe. Repeat with Red yarn directly above or below the first white stripe. Then add another White stripe. The stripes should run across the blue body of the shoe, positioned centrally on the side.

2. Embroider Stars: Using yellow yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider small ‘*’ or ‘X’ shaped stars onto the blue sections of the shoe, overlapping the embroidered stripes slightly, to mimic the Cape Verde flag design. Aim for 3-4 stars on each side.

3. Attach Tongue: Position the tongue piece at the front top opening of the shoe, slightly tucked in, and sew it securely in place using the tail.

4. Add Laces: Cut a length of white yarn. Thread it through the top rows of the white toe section (e.g., Rnd 13 or 14) to create laces, mimicking the look of real shoelaces. Tie a small bow or knot at the top.

5. Keyring Loop: Using blue yarn, attach it to the top heel part of the shoe. Ch 10, sl st back into the same spot to form a loop. FO, weave in ends. Attach a jump ring and the keychain ring to this loop.
