Materials

Sport weight yarn in Mint Green, Baby Pink, White, Tan, Light Blue, Black, and Lime Green
2.0mm (US Steel Hook Size 4) crochet hook
Two 4mm black safety eyes for the alien
Polyester fiberfill stuffing
Keychain ring and chain
Black embroidery floss and needle
Stitch markers and scissors

MR – Magic Ring
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (sc 2 together)
BLO – Back Loops Only
FLO – Front Loops Only

Instructions

Truck Body (In Mint Green and Pink/White Striped Yarn)

Using Mint Green yarn, chain 16. We will work in rounds around both sides of the chain to create an oval base.

Round 1: Start in 2nd ch from hook, 14 sc, 3 sc in last chain. Turn to work on the opposite side of the chain: 13 sc, inc in last ch (32 sts).

Rounds 2-6: sc around (32 sts).

Switch to Pink and White stripes for the awning and top roof section.

Rounds 7-12: sc around, alternating Pink and White every 2 stitches to create stripes (32 sts).

Stuff firmly with fiberfill as you progress. Start decreasing to close the top.

Round 13: (2 sc, dec) repeat around (24 sts).

Round 14: (1 sc, dec) repeat around (16 sts).

Round 15: dec around (8 sts). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Alien Passenger (In Lime Green Yarn)

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6 sts).

Round 2: inc in each st around (12 sts).

Round 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat around (18 sts).

Rounds 4-7: sc around (18 sts).

Insert 4mm safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6, leaving 4 stitches in between. Embroider a small smile with black thread.

Round 8: (1 sc, dec) repeat around (12 sts). Stuff head lightly.

Round 9: dec around (6 sts). Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew into the side window of the truck.

Create small antennae by chaining 4, slip stitch down, and sew to the top of the head.

Wheels (Make 4 in Black and Blue Yarn)

Using Blue yarn, start with 6 sc in MR. Switch to Black yarn.

Round 2: inc in each st around (12 sts). sl st to first st to finish. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing onto the bottom corners of the truck.
