Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in: Teal (frame), Black (tires), Orange (rims, basket), Beige (spokes), Yellow (seat, handlebars), Grey (chain, pedals), Pink (flowers), White (flower accents)
• 2.0mm crochet hook

Instructions

Before you begin, gather all your materials. This pattern uses continuous rounds unless otherwise stated. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round.

Frame (Teal Yarn)

Main Frame Bar:

• Ch 15. Join with sl st to first ch to form a loop.
• Rnd 1-2: Sc in each ch around (15 sc). Sl st to first sc, FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Lightly stuff.

Seat Post & Down Tube: (Make 2)

• Ch 10. Join with sl st to first ch to form a loop.
• Rnd 1-2: Sc in each ch around (10 sc). Sl st to first sc, FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Lightly stuff.

Chain Stay (Bottom Rear Frame):

• Ch 8. Join with sl st to first ch to form a loop.
• Rnd 1-2: Sc in each ch around (8 sc). Sl st to first sc, FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Lightly stuff.

Wheels (Make 2)

Using Black Yarn (Tire):

• Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6 sc).
• Rnd 2: [Inc] x 6 (12 sc).
• Rnd 3: [Sc, inc] x 6 (18 sc).
• Rnd 4: [Sc 2, inc] x 6 (24 sc).
• Rnd 5: [Sc 3, inc] x 6 (30 sc).
• Rnd 6: Sc in each st around (30 sc).
• Change to Orange Yarn (Rim):
• Rnd 7: Sc in each st around (30 sc).
• Change to Beige Yarn (Spokes Base):
• Rnd 8: Sc in each st around (30 sc). Sl st to first sc. FO.

Using Beige yarn and tapestry needle, embroider thin lines from the center of the beige circle to the orange rim to create spokes, referring to the image for placement.

Seat (Yellow Yarn)

• Ch 6.
• Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on other side of ch: sc in next 3 ch, 2 sc in last ch (12 sc).
• Rnd 2: Sc in each st around (12 sc). Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail for sewing. Lightly stuff.

Handlebars (Yellow Yarn)

• Ch 8. Sl st to first ch to form a loop.
• Rnd 1: Sc in each ch around (8 sc). Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail. Lightly stuff.

Pedals & Chain (Grey Yarn, Black Yarn)

Pedals (Make 2, Black Yarn):

• Ch 4. Sl st to first ch to form a loop. FO, leaving a tail.

Chain & Crank (Grey Yarn):

• Ch 6. Sl st to 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Basket (Orange Yarn)

• Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6 sc).
• Rnd 2: [Inc] x 6 (12 sc).
• Rnd 3: Sc in each st around (12 sc).
• Rnd 4: [Sc 2, dec] x 3 (9 sc). Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Flowers (Pink and White Yarn)

Small Flower (Make 2-3, Pink Yarn):

• Ch 5. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, [sl st, ch 2, sl st] in the same ch. Repeat in next 3 ch. Sl st to first ch. FO.

Using White yarn, embroider a small French knot in the center of each flower.

Assembly

1. Assemble the frame using the teal tubes. The “Main Frame Bar” is the horizontal top bar. Attach one “Seat Post & Down Tube” vertically from the middle of the Main Frame Bar downwards (this is the seat post). Attach the other “Seat Post & Down Tube” diagonally from one end of the Main Frame Bar downwards and forward (this is the down tube/head tube). Attach the “Chain Stay” horizontally from the bottom of the seat post to the rear wheel position. Refer to the image for specific angles. Use the long tails to securely sew all pieces together.
2. Attach the two wheels to the frame at the appropriate positions (front and rear) using the long tails.
3. Sew the yellow seat to the top of the seat post.
4. Sew the yellow handlebars to the top of the front down tube/head tube.
5. Attach the grey chain/crank piece to the frame near the bottom of the seat post and down tube junction. Attach the two black pedals to either side of the chain/crank.
6. Sew the basket to the front of the handlebars.
7. Arrange and sew the pink and white flowers into the basket.
8. Attach a keychain ring to the top of the seat post, or to the main frame bar.
