Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in Turquoise, Yellow, Hot Pink, White, and Black
• 2.25 mm (B-1) crochet hook
• Black embroidery floss and sewing needle
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring and lobster clasp
• Yarn needle and scissors

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• inc – increase (2 single crochet in one stitch)
• dec – decrease (single crochet 2 together)
• sl st – slip stitch
• st(s) – stitch(es)

Instructions

Main Body (Make 2 – One Turquoise/Pink, One Solid Turquoise):

With Turquoise yarn, chain 16.

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (15 sts)

Rows 2-10: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (15 sts)

Row 11: Ch 1, sc around the entire outer edge of the rectangle to create a clean border. Join with sl st and fasten off.

For the front panel, repeat the above but change yarn to Hot Pink for Row 11 to create a pink accent line, then work one final round of Turquoise.

Cassette Label (Make 1):

Using White yarn, chain 11.

Rows 1-2: Sc in each st across, turn. (10 sts)

Change to Yellow yarn.

Rows 3-4: Sc in each st across, turn. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly & Details:

• Sew the Cassette Label to the center of the front Turquoise/Pink panel.
• Using Black embroidery thread, stitch the center reel window (a black rectangle in the center) and add two small black circles on either side for the tape spindles.
• Embroider ‘A’, ‘CASSETTE’, and ‘SIDE A’ using black thread or a fine fabric pen.
• Add the bottom yellow tape guard by crocheting a small strip of 6 sc for 2 rows in Yellow and sewing it to the bottom edge.
• Place the front and back panels together (wrong sides facing), and join them by single crocheting around the edges through both layers using Turquoise yarn. Stuff lightly with fiberfill before closing.
• Attach a chain of 15 stitches in Yellow/Turquoise to the top corner to serve as a hanger, and secure it to your keychain ring.
