Materials

• Embroidery thread or lace-weight yarn (Size 10 or 20) in Hot Pink, Pale Peach, Yellow, White, and Red

Instructions

Tiny Doll Assembly

Head & Body: Start with Pale Peach yarn/thread. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6). Round 2: *inc* around (12). Round 3-5: sc in each st around (12). Round 6: *dec* around (6). Stuff the head lightly with fiberfill. Round 7: Change to Pink yarn, *inc* around (12). Round 8: BLO sc in each st around (12). Round 9-11: sc in each st around (12). Round 12: Change to Pale Peach, *dec* around (6). Sl st and fasten off, leaving a tail to sew legs together.

Skirt: Join Pink yarn to FLO of Round 8. Round 1: *inc, sc 1* around (18). Round 2-4: sc in each st around (18). Sl st to first st, fasten off and weave in ends.

Arms (Make 2): Using Pale Peach. Chain 5. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc 4. Fasten off, leaving a tail. Sew arms to the sides of the body just below the neck.

Hair: Cut several strands of Yellow yarn (approx. 3 inches long). Latch hook them to the top and sides of the head to create a full head of hair. Trim the bangs and style the side ponytail as pictured.

Facial Details: Using a single strand of black embroidery thread, sew two small French knots for the eyes. Use pink thread to stitch a tiny smile.

The Pink Box

Back Panel & Sides: Using Hot Pink yarn. Chain 11. Row 1-22: sc in each ch across, turn (10). Do not fasten off. Work 1 sc in each stitch around the perimeter of the panel to create a neat edge. To build the sides of the box, work in BLO of the perimeter stitches: sc in each st around for 4 rounds to create depth. Fasten off.

Front Frame: Chain 11. Row 1-4: sc across (10). To create the cutout window, Row 5: sc 2, ch 6, skip 6 sts, sc 2. Row 6-18: sc 2, work 6 sc across the chains/space, sc 2. Row 19-22: sc across (10). Work sc around the inner window and outer edges to neaten. Cut a small piece of clear plastic slightly larger than the window opening and glue or sew it inside the front frame.

Embellishments & Assembly

Embroidery: Use white embroidery thread to sew the name ‘BARBIE’ above the window using satin stitches. On the bottom left, embroider a small red hexagon shape, then stitch ‘MATTEL’ inside in tiny white stitches. Embroider the mini cartoon profile on the bottom right using yellow and pink threads.

Final Assembly: Securely stitch the tiny doll to the center back panel of the pink box. Place a small amount of stuffing behind her to keep her upright. Align the front frame over the box sides and whipstitch them together using Hot Pink yarn. Attach the keychain ring to the top center loop of the box.
