Materials

• Fingering weight cotton yarn in Cream (main color)
• Fingering weight cotton yarn in White, Light Pink, Hot Pink, Olive Green, Red, and Navy Blue

Instructions

Main Cups (Make 2):

Using Cream yarn and a 3.0mm hook, chain 16. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 13 chs, work 3 sc in the last ch. Rotate to work on the opposite side of the chain, sc in next 14 chs. Turn. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across to the center st of the 3-sc group, work 3 sc in that center st, sc in each remaining st to end. Turn. Rows 3-12: Repeat Row 2 until the cup reaches your desired coverage, adjusting row counts as needed. Finish the outer curve of the cups with a shell stitch border: *sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2, sc in next; repeat from * along the top curved edges.

Lower Body Lace Panel:

Join the two cups at the bottom center with a sl st. Attach Cream yarn to the bottom right corner of the joined cups. Row 1: Work a row of dc evenly across the entire bottom edge of the cups. Turn. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *sk 2 sts, work 5 dc (shell) in next st, sk 2, sc in next; repeat from * across. Turn. Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first sc, *ch 1, sk shell, 3 dc in next sc; repeat from * across. Turn. Rows 4-15: Repeat Row 2 and Row 3 to create the beautiful lace panel extending down the torso.

Bottom Waistband:

Switch to White yarn. Work 8 rows of even sc across the entire bottom edge of the lace panel to form a wide solid band. Fasten off. Finish the very bottom edge with a row of Red sc for a vibrant contrast border.

Sakura Blossoms Applique:

Using Light or Hot Pink yarn, make a magic ring. *Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st into ring; repeat from * 5 times to form 5 petals. Pull ring tight and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Make 5-7 flowers. For the center details, use yellow embroidery floss to sew French knots in the middle of each flower.

Green Leaves:

Using Olive Green yarn, ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Ch 1, rotate to work on the opposite side of the chain: sc, hdc, dc in next 3 sts, hdc, sc. Sl st to join and fasten off.

Finishing and Assembly:

Crochet two straps by chaining 80 (or desired length) with Cream yarn. Work a row of sc back down the chain, then sew securely to the top peaks of the cups and the back band. Arrange the crocheted sakura flowers and green leaves across the front lace panel to resemble a cascading cherry blossom branch, then sew down using a yarn needle. Embroider or applique the soccer ball and circular wave motifs onto the cups and bottom band as shown in the design image. Weave in all remaining yarn tails.
