Materials

• White sport/DK weight yarn
• Royal Blue sport/DK weight yarn
• Red sport/DK weight yarn
• 2.0mm crochet hook

Instructions

Sole (Royal Blue):

• 1. Ch 10.
• 2. Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 7 ch, 4 sc in last ch. Working on other side of chain: sc in next 7 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Join with sl st to first sc. (22 sts)
• 3. Rnd 2: Ch 1, inc in first st, sc in next 7, (inc) x 4, sc in next 7, (inc) x 3. Join with sl st. (30 sts)
• 4. Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc around. Join with sl st. (30 sts)

Fasten off Royal Blue.

Boot Body (White):

• 1. Attach White yarn to any st.
• 2. Rnd 4: Ch 1, working in BLO, sc around. Join with sl st. (30 sts)
• 3. Rnd 5-8: Ch 1, sc around. Join with sl st. (30 sts for 4 rounds)
• 4. Rnd 9 (Toe Shaping): Ch 1, sc in next 8 sts, (dec) x 7, sc in next 8 sts. Join with sl st. (23 sts)
• 5. Rnd 10 (Heel Opening): Ch 1, sc in next 10 sts, leave remaining 13 sts unworked. Turn. (This forms the back heel)

Upper Front Flap (White):

• 1. Join White yarn to the first unworked st of Rnd 10 (after the 10 sc).

Assembly and Embroidery:

• 1. Lightly stuff the boot with fiberfill to help it hold its shape.
• 2. Sew the Royal Blue Tongue to the underside of the White Upper Front Flap.
• 3. Sew the White Upper Front Flap to the remaining opening edges of the boot, aligning it to form the complete boot shape.
• 4. Sew the 8 Royal Blue Studs evenly onto the bottom of the Royal Blue Sole.
• 5. Using Royal Blue yarn and a tapestry needle:
  • Embroider the ‘JAPAN’ text neatly onto one side of the boot.
  • Embroider the number ’10’ onto the opposite side of the boot.
  • Embroider two thin, parallel stripes along the upper side of the boot, resembling the shoe’s design details.
  • Embroider the zigzag ‘laces’ onto the upper front flap of the boot.
• 6. Sew the Red Circle onto the side of the boot, positioned to look like the Japanese flag (usually on the same side as the ‘JAPAN’ text, or as preferred).
