Materials

• Sport/DK Weight Yarn in Yellow (Main Color)
• Sport/DK Weight Yarn in Red (Sole, Trim, Studs, Loop)
• Sport/DK Weight Yarn in Blue (Stripe, Laces, Details)
• 2.5mm Crochet Hook (or hook suitable for your yarn weight)
• Stitch Marker
• Tapestry Needle
• Fiberfill for Stuffing
• Keychain Ring
• Black embroidery floss (optional, for finer details)

Abbreviations

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• sl st: slip stitch
• inc: increase (2 sc in one stitch)
• dec: decrease (sc2tog)
• FO: fasten off
• MR: magic ring
• BL: back loop

Instructions

Gauge: Not critical for this project, just ensure your stitches are tight enough so stuffing doesn’t show.

Note: Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise specified. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of each round.

Part 1: Sole (Red Yarn)

• R1: Ch 11. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch, 3sc in last ch. Turn to work on other side of ch. Sc in next 8 ch, 2sc in last ch. (22 sts)
• R2: Inc, sc in 8, inc x3, sc in 8, inc x2. (28 sts)
• R3: Sc in each st around. (28 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO Red yarn.

Part 2: Bottom Blue Stripe (Blue Yarn)

• R4: Join Blue yarn. Working in the BL of R3, ch 1, sc in each st around. (28 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO Blue yarn.

Part 3: Red Base Trim (Red Yarn)

• R5: Join Red yarn. Working in the BL of R4, ch 1, sc in each st around. (28 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO Red yarn.

Part 4: Boot Body (Yellow Yarn)

• R6: Join Yellow yarn. Working through both loops of R5, ch 1, sc in each st around. (28 sts)
• R7: Sc in each st around. (28 sts)
• R8: Sc 8, dec, sc 8, dec, sc 6. (26 sts)
• R9: Sc 7, dec, sc 7, dec, sc 6. (24 sts)
• R10: Sc 6, dec, sc 6, dec, sc 6. (22 sts)
• R11: Sc 5, dec, sc 5, dec, sc 6. (20 sts)
• Lightly stuff the toe area.

Part 5: Ankle Opening (Yellow Yarn)

Now we will work in rows to create the opening for the laces.

• Row 12: Sc in next 12 stitches. Ch 1, turn. (12 sts) (The remaining 8 stitches will form the back heel.)
• Row 13-14: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (12 sts)
• FO Yellow yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing if desired.

Part 6: Tongue (Yellow Yarn)

• Ch 5.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 3 ch. Ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
• Row 2-5: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
• FO, leaving a long tail. Sew the tongue to the inside front of the boot opening, slightly below the top edge.

Part 7: Studs/Cleats (Red Yarn – Make 6-8)

• R1: In MR, 6 sc. (6 sts)
• R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
• R3: Sc in each st around. (12 sts)
• R4: Dec in each st around. (6 sts)
• Lightly stuff. FO, leaving a long tail. Use the tail to close the opening and sew the studs evenly to the bottom of the red sole.

Part 8: Laces (Yellow and Blue Yarn)

• Using Yellow yarn, ch 30. FO.
• Using Blue yarn, ch 30. FO.
• Thread the yellow and blue chains alternately through the lacing holes of the boot opening. Tie in a small bow at the top.

Part 9: Keychain Loop (Red Yarn)

• At the center back heel of the boot, join Red yarn. Ch 10. Sl st into the same stitch or an adjacent stitch on the boot to form a loop.
• FO and weave in ends.

Part 10: Finishing Details

• Blue Side Stripes: Using blue yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider or surface slip stitch thin blue lines along the sides of the yellow boot, mimicking the design in the image.
• Ecuador FEF Crest & Number 10: Using blue embroidery floss or fabric paint, carefully embroider or paint the ‘Ecuador FEF’ logo and the number ’10’ onto the side of the yellow boot, as shown in the picture.
• Attach the keychain ring to the red loop at the heel.
