Materials

• Sport/DK weight yarn in Green (main color)
• Sport/DK weight yarn in Yellow (accent color)
• Small amount of White yarn (for laces, flag)
• Small amount of Blue yarn (for flag)
• Small amount of Red yarn (for flag)
• 2.0mm or 2.5mm crochet hook (or size to achieve tight stitches)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stuffing (polyester fiberfill)
• Keychain ring with chain

Instructions

Sole (Yellow Yarn)

• Rnd 1: Ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Turn to work along the other side of the chain: sc in next 5 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (16 stitches)
• Rnd 2: Inc, sc in next 5, inc x 3, sc in next 5, inc x 2. (22 stitches)
• Rnd 3: Sc in each stitch around in BLO. (22 stitches)
• Sl st to first sc. FO.

Shoe Base (Green Yarn)

• Join green yarn to any stitch in Rnd 3 of the Sole, working in FLO of Rnd 3.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around in FLO. (22 stitches)
• Rnd 2-4: Sc in each stitch around. (22 stitches)
• Rnd 5: Sc in next 7, dec, sc in next 4, dec, sc in next 7. (20 stitches)
• Rnd 6: Sc in next 6, dec, sc in next 4, dec, sc in next 6. (18 stitches)
• Rnd 7: Sc in next 5, dec, sc in next 4, dec, sc in next 5. (16 stitches)

• Start stuffing the toe area lightly.

Shoe Opening & Tongue Area (Green Yarn)

• Rnd 9: Ch 1, turn. Sc in next 6 stitches. (6 stitches)
• Rnd 10-11: Ch 1, turn. Sc in next 6 stitches. (6 stitches)
• Sl st to the side of Rnd 8 to create the heel back. FO.

Tongue (Yellow Yarn)

• Ch 4.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch. (3 stitches)
• Row 2-3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. (3 stitches)
• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Top Trim & Lace Eyelets (Yellow Yarn)

• Join yellow yarn at the back heel.
• Rnd 1: Sc evenly around the entire top opening of the shoe (including the unworked stitches from Rnd 8 of the shoe base and along the sides of the green tongue flap). You should have approximately 18-20 stitches. Sl st to first sc.
• Lace Eyelets (Optional): Using yellow yarn and a tapestry needle, create small ‘X’ stitches on each side of the tongue opening for lace eyelets, approximately 3-4 pairs.

Laces (White Yarn)

• Using white yarn and a tapestry needle, weave a “lace” through the yellow eyelets. Tie a small bow or knot at the top. Trim ends.

Studs (Green Yarn – Make 6-8)

• MR, sc 4 in ring. Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail.

Finishing & Details
