Instructions

Step 1: Ribbed Bottom Band

Using Green yarn, chain 11. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in back loops only (BLO) across. Repeat Row 2 until the band measures your waist circumference (approx. 70-80 rows for Size S/M). Join the ends with a slip stitch to form a circular tube.

Step 2: Main Body Panels

We will build the body upwards. The front features a central blue panel representing the flag, flanked by green and gold striped sides. The back is worked in continuous green and gold stripes.

Central Flag Panel: Join Blue yarn over the center front 35 stitches of the ribbing. Rows 1-24: Ch 1, work 35 sc across in Blue. Fasten off.

Side & Back Panels: Join Green yarn on either side of the flag panel. Work in a repeating stripe pattern: 2 rows of Gold, 2 rows of Green. Work in hdc to create a dense fabric.
