Materials

• DK weight cotton yarn in White (approx. 200g)

Instructions

Step 1: The Ribbed Waistband

Using Red yarn, ch 13. Row 1: Hdc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (12 hdc) Rows 2-10: Ch 1, hdc in BLO of each st across, turn. Change to Royal Blue yarn. Rows 11-12: Ch 1, hdc in BLO of each st across, turn. Change to White yarn. Rows 13-14: Ch 1, hdc in BLO of each st across, turn. Change to Royal Blue yarn. Rows 15-16: Ch 1, hdc in BLO of each st across, turn. Change to Red yarn. Repeat this ribbing sequence until the band is long enough to fit snugly around your waist (approx. 80-90 rows for size Small/Medium). Sl st the first and last row together to form a ring.

Step 2: The Main Body

Join White yarn to the top edge of the ribbed waistband. Round 1: Ch 1, work 1 sc in each row end around the waistband. Join with sl st. Round 2: Ch 2 (does not count as st), dc in each st around, join with sl st. Divide the front of the top into three sections: two solid dc side panels and one central lace panel.

Step 3: Central Lace Panel

For the center front 30 stitches, work an openwork lace pattern: Row 1: *Ch 5, skip 3 sts, sc in next st; repeat from * across. Row 2: Sl st to center of first ch-sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-sp; repeat across. Row 3: *5 dc in next ch-sp, sc in next ch-sp; repeat from * across to form shells. Continue alternating solid dc on the sides and back, and the lace panel in the front center for 18 rounds.

Step 4: Armholes and Neckline

Split the work to create the armholes and scoop neck. Leave 4 sts unworked on each side under the arms. Work the back panel in solid dc rows, decreasing at the armhole edges for 3 rows, then working straight up to the shoulders. For the front panel, split around the scoop neckline. Work left and right front straps separately, maintaining the lace pattern towards the neck edge and solid dc towards the armhole.

Step 5: Neckline and Armhole Borders

Join Royal Blue yarn at the neckline. Work 1 round of sc around the scoop neck. Join Red yarn, work 1 round of sc. Join White yarn, work 1 round of sc. Repeat this striping pattern around both armholes to create the sporty ribbed cap-sleeve borders.

Step 6: Finishing & Embroidery

Weave in all loose ends. Position your Korea Tiger emblem patch directly over the center of the white solid bust area. Securely sew the patch onto the top using matching thread. Gently steam block your finished top to open up the beautiful center lace pattern.
