Materials

• Medium weight (Category 4) cotton yarn in Royal Blue, White, and Red
• Small amount of Gold/Yellow yarn (for stars)
• 4.0 mm (US G/6) crochet hook
• Yarn needle for sewing and weaving in ends
• Embroidered France crest patch (optional)
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• dc – double crochet
• fpdc – front post double crochet
• bpdc – back post double crochet

• MC – Main Color (Royal Blue)
• CC1 – Contrast Color 1 (White)
• CC2 – Contrast Color 2 (Red)

Instructions

Sizing Note: This pattern is written for a standard size Small/Medium. You can easily adjust the size by increasing or decreasing the initial chain length of the main panel to fit your bust measurement.

Main Striped Panel:

Using MC (Royal Blue), chain 71 (or a chain long enough to cover your front from side-seam to side-seam).

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.

Row 2-4: Ch 2, dc in each st across. Turn. (Switch to CC1/White at the end of Row 4).

Row 5: With CC1, ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (Switch to CC2/Red at the end of Row 5).

Row 6: With CC2, ch 2, dc in each st across. Turn. (Switch to MC/Royal Blue at the end of Row 6).

Row 7-12: Repeat the color stripe sequence as seen in the photo, alternating between MC (Royal Blue), CC1 (White), and CC2 (Red) rows to create the horizontal striped pattern across the bust. Secure ends.

Bottom Ribbed Band:

Attach CC2 (Red) to the bottom edge of the main panel to work downwards.

Row 1: Ch 2, dc evenly along the bottom edge. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2, *fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st; repeat from * to end. Turn.

Row 3-5: Repeat Row 2, alternating colors (White and Royal Blue) to match the ribbed detailing shown in the image. Fasten off.

Halter Straps & Back Ties:

Attach MC (Royal Blue) to the top left corner of the front panel. Ch 2, work 8 dc. Turn and work rows of dc until the strap is long enough to reach behind your neck. Repeat on the top right corner. Join both straps or leave them long to tie behind the neck.

For the back ties: Attach yarn to the back corners of the main panel, chain 100 (or desired length), and fasten off to create lace-up ties.

Embellishments & Assembly:

Using a yarn needle and white yarn, embroider the word ‘FRANCE’ across the lower red band of the top. Stitch or glue your FFF patch to the center of the blue section. Crochet two small stars using gold yarn and sew them directly above the patch.
