Materials

• Sparkle Blue DK or Worsted Weight Yarn (approx. 300-400 yards)

Instructions

Collar Base (Sparkle Blue)

• With Sparkle Blue yarn, ch 80. Join with sl st to form a loop, being careful not to twist.
• R1-4: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. (80 sc)

Crown Peaks (White & Sparkle Blue)

• Join White yarn to the first sc of the last row of the Collar Base.
• Peak 1 (White): Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts. Turn.
• R2: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next st, sc2tog. (3 sc). Turn.
• R3: Ch 1, sc3tog. (1 sc). Fasten off.
• Join Sparkle Blue yarn in the 6th sc of the Collar Base (where the first peak ended).
• Connecting Section (Sparkle Blue): Ch 1, sc in next 5 sts. Fasten off.
• Repeat *Peak (White), Connecting Section (Sparkle Blue)* around the collar. You should have 8 White peaks with 8 Sparkle Blue connecting sections in between.

Cape Body (Sparkle Blue)

• Join Sparkle Blue yarn to the bottom edge of the Collar Base (the opposite edge from where you worked the Crown Peaks).
• R1 (Base for Mesh): Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each st around the bottom edge of the collar. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (80 dc)
• R2 (Mesh): Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1). *Sk next st, dc in next st, ch 1*. Repeat around, sk last st, join with sl st to 3rd ch of Ch 4. (40 dc, 40 ch-1 sps)
• R3-10: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1). *Dc in next dc, ch 1*. Repeat around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of Ch 4.
• R11 (Increase Row): Ch 4. *(Dc in next dc, ch 1) 5 times. (Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1) in next dc*. Repeat around. Join with sl st. (Approximately 46 V-stitches/spaces created).
• R12-18: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1). *Dc in next dc, ch 1*. Repeat around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of Ch 4.
• R19 (Increase Row): Ch 4. *(Dc in next dc, ch 1) 6 times. (Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1) in next dc*. Repeat around. Join with sl st. (Approximately 52 V-stitches/spaces created).
• Continue repeating the non-increase mesh row and adding increase rows every 7-8 rows as desired until the cape reaches your preferred length. Ensure increases are evenly spaced.

Snowflake Appliques (White)

Small Snowflake (Make 5-7)

• Magic Ring. Ch 1, 12 sc into ring. Join with sl st to first sc.
• *Ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook (picot), sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in last ch. Sk 1 sc in ring, sl st in next sc in ring.* Repeat 6 times. Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing.

Medium Snowflake (Make 3-5)

• Magic Ring. Ch 2, 12 hdc in ring. Join with sl st.
• *Ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook (picot), ch 1, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in last ch. Sk 1 hdc in ring, sl st in next hdc in ring.* Repeat 6 times. Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing.

Large Snowflake (Make 2-3)

• Magic Ring. Ch 2, 16 dc in ring. Join with sl st.
• *Ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook (picot), ch 1, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, tr in next 2 ch. Sk 1 dc in ring, sl st in next dc in ring.* Repeat 8 times. Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing.

Finishing & Edging

• Attach Snowflakes: Using a yarn needle, carefully sew all the crocheted snowflakes onto the Sparkle Blue cape body, arranging them as desired. Secure all points.
• Scallop Edging (White): Join White yarn to any bottom corner of the cape.
