Main Bag Body (Worked Flat)

Start with Red Sparkle Yarn. Ch 36.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (35 hdc)
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each st across. Fasten off Red yarn. (This forms the bottom stripe)

Bag Assembly

Lay the crocheted rectangle flat. The first 4 Red rows form the bottom of the bag. Fold the piece so that the flap (Rows 28-38, Green) comes over the front panel (Rows 17-27, Green).
Using the long tail from the Green yarn or a new strand, whip stitch or single crochet the side edges of the bag together, starting from the Red bottom and working upwards until you reach the point where the flap begins. Securely fasten off and weave in all ends.

Using Red Sparkle Yarn.
Center Ring: Ch 4, sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 10 sc into ring, sl st to first sc. (10 sc)
Small Petals (Make 3, on one center ring): [Ch 3, dc in next st, ch 3, sl st in same st, sl st in next st] rep 3 times around. Fasten off.
Medium Petals (Make 3, on a new center ring): Create another center ring as above. Ch 1, 10 sc into ring, sl st to first sc. [Ch 4, tr in next st, ch 4, sl st in same st, sl st in next st] rep 3 times around. Fasten off.
Large Petals (Make 3, on a new center ring): Create another center ring as above. Ch 1, 10 sc into ring, sl st to first sc. [Ch 5, dtr in next st, ch 5, sl st in same st, sl st in next st] rep 3 times around. Fasten off.
Layer the petals (largest at the bottom, then medium, then small) and securely sew them together in the center. Stitch a few gold or yellow French knots in the very center if desired, or use a small gold bead.

Finishing Touches

Sew the Poinsettia flower centrally onto the front flap of the bag.
