Materials

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in Orange, Red, White, and Blue
• 4.0 mm (G/6) crochet hook
• KNVB Netherlands emblem patch
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• dc – double crochet
• bo – bobble stitch (5 dc cluster)
• dec – decrease (dc2tog)
• st – stitch
• sl st – slip stitch

Instructions

Front Panel (Orange Yarn):

Row 1: Chain 61. Dc in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across. Turn (59 sts).

Rows 2-10: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st across. Turn.

Row 11 (Start of Taper): Ch 3, dc2tog, dc across to last 3 sts, dc2tog, dc in last st. Turn.

Rows 12-25: Repeat Row 11, decreasing 1 st at each end of every row until the top edge is about 20 sts wide. Fasten off.

Bottom Lace & Bobble Border:

Join orange yarn to the bottom of the front panel.

Row 1 (Mesh Row): Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), *skip 1 st, dc in next, ch 1* repeat from * to * across. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-space across. Turn.

Row 3 (Bobble Row): Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, *Bobble in next st, sc in next 2 sts* repeat to end. Turn.

Color Stripes (Red, White, Blue):

Row 4 (Red Yarn): Join Red, ch 1, sc across. Turn.

Row 5 (White Yarn): Join White, ch 1, sc across. Turn.

Row 6 (Blue Yarn): Join Blue, ch 1, sc across. Turn.

Shell Edging:

Row 7 (Orange Yarn): Join Orange, ch 1, sc in first st, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st (shell made), skip 2 sts, sc in next* repeat to end. Fasten off.

Finishing & Straps:

Reattach orange yarn to the top-left corner of the halter. Ch 100 for neck tie, fasten off. Repeat for the top-right corner. Attach orange yarn to the side corners of the bottom back to create tie straps (ch 120 each). Sew the Netherlands patch securely to the center of the chest.
