Mandala Bag Panels (Make 2 identical panels)

Round 1 (Yarn A – Coral Pink): Create a Magic Ring. Ch 3 (counts as 1st Dc), work 11 Dc into the ring. Join with a Sl St to the top of the initial Ch 3. (12 Dc)

Join with a Sl St to the first Sc. Fasten off this panel. (Ensure an even number of stitches for the next round).

Round 8 (Yarn E – Cream): Join Yarn E. Ch 1, Sc in each stitch around. Join with a Sl St to the first Sc. Fasten off for the first panel. For the second panel, DO NOT fasten off.

Assembly and Strap

1. Join Panels: Place the two finished mandala panels with their wrong sides facing each other. Using Yarn E (Cream) and continuing from the second panel, Ch 1, and Sc through both layers, working around the edge to join the panels. Work about three-quarters of the way around the circumference of the bag.

2. Create the Strap Base (Yarn E – Cream): Ch 100 (or desired length for the strap; adjust as needed). Skip 1 ch, then Sc in each Ch back across the strap (99 Sc). This creates the base of your strap.

3. Attach Strap and Finish Joining: Sl St the end of the newly created strap into the remaining unjoined edge of the second bag panel (where you started the Ch for the strap). Continue working Sc through both layers of the bag panels to finish joining the bag. Join with a Sl St to close the final seam. Fasten off Yarn E.

4. Add Strap Accent (Yarn B – Teal Green): Join Yarn B (Teal Green) at one end of the strap. Ch 1, then work a row of Sc stitches along one long edge of the strap, from one end to the other. Fasten off. Rejoin Yarn B at the other end of the strap and work another row of Sc stitches along the opposite long edge of the strap. Fasten off.
